WELCOME

Dr. Klein is Chairman and Chief Scientist at Klein Associates, Inc., where he manages and conducts basic and applied research in decision making, highly proficient performance, and case-based reasoning. His work also focuses on technological applications to front-end analysis predictions, training, design of displays, development of decision support systems, and of knowledge-based systems. He has developed an RPD model of time-pressured decision making, and naturalistic decision making. His interest in decision making has also led him to the development of a Critical Decision method of knowledge elicitation. Applications of this work have been in the areas of decision training and expert system development and evaluation. Dr. Klein has also developed a cognitive model for use in training, and has developed and made application of a decision-centered design approach. Additionally, he has applied Case Based Reasoning approaches to expert system development in areas such as structural engineering and product/process design.
