FAQs AND SOLUTIONS

This section is designed to provide information and answers about the Department policies and procedures.

You should also consult the WSU Undergraduate Catalog available on-line. The catalog is a valuable source of information and details academic programs, student life, admission to Wright State, advising, and registration, academic standards and requirements, the General Education Program, and course offerings from all Departments within the University.

It is impossible to anticipate all potential questions. If you have questions not answered by Resources & Solutions, we encourage you contact us in the Psychology Undergraduate Program (PUP) Office in 342 Fawcett Hall. Office hours vary and are posted quarterly. Check our News & Events page for current quarter office hours. You may also contact us by phone at 937-775-4155.

What can I do if I get closed out of a class?

If a class is closed, please check Wings Express frequently. Class schedule search at Wings Express allows you to search for available classes in real time. This means that if a student drops a course, the opening is immediately available for someone else. Students can also check at the Planning Guide to Course Offerings on the bulletin board outside the PUP Office to find out when courses will be offered again in the upcoming academic year.

Class size limits are set for a reason. These include fire safety codes, course structure and classroom size. There are some courses in the Department of Psychology that fill up quickly! Students should schedule as early as possible to ensure getting the courses they want or need.

How can I drop out of a class?

If you are considering dropping a class in which you are already registered, you need to withdraw from the class through WINGS EXPRESS. Depending on how late in the quarter, you may receive partial or no refund for those withdrawn credit hours. Check the Office of Registrar to find out more about WSU refunding policies.

If you are considering dropping a class because you think you are failing the class, you should consult with the instructor first. Ask the instructor if there is anything you can do to improve your performance in the class, then make a decision whether to drop the course.
